Our Environmental Policy
We have concrete goals for our environmental efforts
We have concrete goals for our environmental efforts
We work actively and systematically to reduce our environmental impact. Our environmental policy is a task we all take on together. This means that we work hard to ensure that all employees know and understand our environmental policy. This applies to all our processes from idea, design, production and transport of packaging. Our employees integrate our initiatives into their everyday lives and use them as a guideline in their work.
We became environmentally certified in 2015 and have continuously improved our environmental efforts through concrete initiatives in connection with the production, transport and disposal of packaging.
We work actively and systematically to reduce our impact on the environment. We do our best to protect the environment through all our procedures. Our environmental policy contains objectives and initiatives for how to achieve them.
Our Commitment
At Scanlux, we are committed to reducing CO₂ emissions in our logistics and operations, working with our partners to promote environmental responsibility through clear targets and transparent reporting.
Our Targets
- Low-Emission Transport: By 2028, 50% of our freight partners’ fleets will run on electric, hybrid, or biofuels.
- Smarter Logistics: By 2027, reduce kilometers driven per delivery unit by 15% through route optimization and fuller loads.
- Transparent Reporting: Publish annual CO₂ reports with clear reduction targets. By 2030, cut Scope 1 emissions by 20% from 2024 levels.
Together, we focus on the environment
Together, we focus on the environment
It is not only within our own organisation that we set requirements for how environmental impact should be managed. We prefer to work with environmentally conscious partners. We expect our suppliers and partners to share our passion for curbing pollution and climate change. They must comply with our environmental policy and adhere to our environmentally conscious approach and procedures.
We work determinedly on:
- Affecting our customers’ choices toward more environmentally-friendly solutions.
- Choosing environmentally-conscious suppliers and partners
- Minimising emissions of greenhouse gasses in connection with transport.
- In general, minimising our consumption of greenhouse gases in our buildings and at our offices.
This means that we:
- Help our customers reduce their CO2 consumption via packaging through analysis, material choice and redesign.
- Use FSC® certified (FSC®-C126290) paper and cardboard in our production processes.
- Use recycled plastic or bioplastic in our production of plastic.
- Recommend our customers to create packaging that gets reused, can be recycled or composted.
- Ensure that the power from our buildings and offices comes from green energy as much as possible.
- Sort and recycle our waste.
- Ensure that our employees know and understand our environmental policy and act in relation to it.
- Identify our environmental impact and create plans of action that are assessed every half year.
- Comply with and live up to binding obligations, including the applicable legislation and regulations under the ISO 14001 standard, FSC® obligations and own goals and action plans.
Certifications supporting responsible choices
Certifications supporting responsible choices
Naturally, we hold the relevant certifications, so you know that the climate and the environment are a priority when you use us as your supplier. With our certifications come obligations and legal requirements, which we comply with to a high degree.
We are FSC®-certified (FSC-C126290), which means that you can have the FSC® label on your packaging if you choose to buy FSC®-certified products. If you choose to go with packaging that is FSC®-certified, you are, among other things, helping to safeguard the nature in the forests from which the wood originates. You contribute to the forest workers having decent working conditions, such as fair wages, education and safety. And you also help to ensure that new forests are established where the old ones are felled.
In addition to being FSC® certified, we are also ISO 14001 certified. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized certification in environmental management. The certification confirms that we make a big effort to reduce the negative impact on the environment that all industrial businesses have. We are also committed to producing not only environmentally responsible products, but also make sure that the process is environmentally friendly.
EcoVadis Gold Medal 2025
EcoVadis Gold Medal 2025
We are proud to have achieved an EcoVadis Gold Medal in 2025.
But what is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is an independent platform that evaluates companies across four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
What does our Gold Medal mean for us and our customers?
Ann Lindhardtsen Nielsen, our ISO & FSC Specialist, has worked with sustainability and certifications at Scanlux for many years. She highlights: "Many of our customers have sustainability goals, so we view supporting our partners' objectives as a key focus for our business. We rank among the top 5% of all companies certified by EcoVadis. Working with responsible practices is a constant and dynamic process; we are always striving to become an even better and more relevant partner for our customers. We aim to be more than just a packaging supplier—we want to be a partner that actively takes responsibility for our impact on society and the environment."
This recognition reflects the effort we have invested in a structured approach to responsible business practices.
For us, it marks an important step in our ongoing work to develop our company and strengthen our collaborations with customers and partners.
We continue to work on improving our processes and contributing to more responsible solutions throughout our value chain. "We aim to be more than just a packaging supplier—we want to be a partner that actively takes responsibility for our impact on society and the environment.""

This also means that we regularly evaluate our environmental impact. We prepare action plans, which are renewed every six months. We continuously evaluate the initiatives we have already implemented and adjust where needed.
We also keep ourselves constantly up to date on what is happening around the world, as we want to gain a better understanding of sustainability developments and learn how Scanlux can be even more environmentally conscious in our day-to-day work.
