Kathleen is one of our staff working in our warehouse located next to Scanlux Packaging’s head office.
Every day, she and her colleagues receive hundreds of palletized cartons shipped from production sites around the world. The warehouse staff are responsible for unpacking all of these cartons, checking the inventories and stacking each product in order on the warehouse shelves. After they receive the inventories, they check the order on the computer screen and arrange delivery to our clients. When it comes to preparation for delivery, correct packing is extremely important. Kathleen is an expert in maneuvering industrial machines for wrapping, strapping, or banding. “Sometimes, when a truck driver doesn’t load the boxes properly, or drives too fast at the roundabout, boxes move around inside and our wrapping paper can get damaged. So it is our responsibility to pack all our products properly and hand them over to the drivers.” This 150-cm tall petite Asian girl who is originally from Luzon island in the Philippines enjoys working in the warehouse together with two other Danish colleagues. “I love my job. The first time I came to Denmark, I was only 21 years old and I worked as an au pair for a Danish family. It was one of the toughest periods in my life. But I learned Danish, got a Danish driving license, and took a forklift truck course over several years. I am a tiny little girl working with two big Viking guys, but I have no problems carrying heavy cartons or operating a forklift. Of course a warehouse job is physically demanding, but it gives me such a nice feeling to be part of the team. I enjoy coming to work every day.” Every morning, she drives to work after dropping off her three children aged one to six at their school or kindergarten.
Kathleen and her colleagues ensure that all of Scanlux Packaging’s products are delivered on time, without getting lost or being damaged on the way to the final destination. We are proud of our good reputation for accurate delivery and professional packing, thanks to our hardworking warehouse staff.
